3. What are slide designs? How do you place one on your slide show?: A pre-made background in PowerPoint. Go to the design tab, choose a theme, change the colour, fonts and effects.
4. True or False: Backgrounds should always be consistent within a presentation.: True
5. List two things you can do to make text easier for your audience to read
a. Change font size
b. Change font style
6. How do you change the font?: Use the Font and Paragraph Group from the Home Tab.
7. How do you change the font color?: Highlight text then right click/font
8. What is a slide transition?: A transition is the animation of the slide- how it enters the screen.
How do you create one? : Go to the animations tab/use icons of transition to this slide. Then choose speed, sound and apply all
9. What is a text box?: A box in which you can type information. Allows user to determine the location of the box. Non-linear use of text
How do you insert a text box?: Click insert text box, typed desired information. Change box, text, colour and location according to what you want.
10. What is a hyperlink? How do you create a one?: A hyperlink is an active connection to another page on the presentation or an active
connection to an outside file or website. To create one you have to type the text you want to be your link or insert graphic you want be your link. For a hyperlink text you have to highlight the text, right click hyperlink, choose the thing you want to link to then click OK.
11. What is an action button? How do you create one?: An action button is a ready-made button which can be inserted into a presentation. To make one you have to go to the Insert tab/shape then choose your choice at the bottom.
12. How would you insert a picture or graphic?: To add a picture you have to click Insert then go to Picture, choose an appropriate file location then click on the picture and click insert. To add a graphic you have to go to Insert then go to Clipart, choose your clipart then click on it and then Insert.
13. What is animation? An animation is the movement of text or graphics.
14. How do you apply an animation to text or graphic?: 1. Highlight item to be animated.
2. From Animations Tab/Custom Animation
3. Press the Add Effect button on the top right of the
screen (In the Task Pane).
4. Choose Entrance, Exit, Emphasis, or Motion paths.
15. What does “Rehearse timings” do?: This allows the user to choose the speed the presentation moves. It also allows the user to choose the length of time between animations.
16. What is Auto Play? How do you get it to work? It allows the user to choose if they want the slideshow to go automatically. To do this click the desired slide, uncheck "On mouse click" then check start after previous.
17. What is the “Rule of Six by Six”?: No more than 6 lines per slide and 6 words per line.
